ELECFREAKS micro:bit Experiment Box Kit (EF08200) – Electronics and Coding Learning Kit Without micro:bit Board
The ELECFREAKS micro:bit Experiment Box Kit (Smart Science Box) is an educational STEM kit for learning electronic circuits and programming together with the BBC micro:bit. The box has 18 components built in (sensors, LEDs, a servo, a DC motor, a MOSFET transistor, resistors, and more), and circuits are connected with solderless banana plugs. The kit supports MakeCode, Python, and JavaScript. The BBC micro:bit board is not included.
Description
The ELECFREAKS Smart Science Box is a new-generation teaching aid that combines electronic circuit design with micro:bit programming. Alongside traditional components (temperature sensor, photocell, servo, motor, and LEDs), the kit includes a MOSFET transistor, resistors of different values, and a trimpot (adjustable resistor), so students learn not only to code but also to understand how electrical circuits work.
All components are mounted on a single board inside the box, and banana plugs are used for connections – easy to insert and pull out, yet stable. That means no soldering, no loose small parts to lose, and circuits that can be assembled quickly and safely. Visual circuit learning helps students grasp the principles more intuitively than theory alone.
The kit can also be used without a micro:bit – the basics of circuit design can be learned without programming. Every kit includes a printed guidebook with step-by-step experiment instructions, and additional lessons and examples are available on the ELECFREAKS WIKI.

Good to Know
- The BBC micro:bit board is not included – to program the experiments you need to buy it separately (the manufacturer states a micro:bit V2 is required).
- Without a micro:bit the kit is only suitable for learning circuit design basics; programmable experiments require the board.
- Power comes from a battery pack (3 V) – batteries are not mentioned in the kit's descriptions, so we recommend purchasing them separately.
- Adult or teacher supervision is recommended for younger learners.
