ELECFREAKS micro:bit Smart City Kit (EF08252) – IoT and Sensor Learning Kit Without micro:bit Board
The ELECFREAKS micro:bit Smart City Kit is a STEM kit for learning the Internet of Things (IoT) and programming by building "smart city" projects with the BBC micro:bit. The kit includes an IoT:bit expansion board with Wi-Fi, an OLED screen, temperature and humidity (DHT11), soil moisture, water level, and ultrasonic sensors, three LEDs, and a 180° servo. The BBC micro:bit board is not included.
Description
The Smart City Kit is built around the IoT:bit, an expansion board that adds Wi-Fi connectivity (ESP8266), a real-time clock (RTC), a buzzer, and broken-out I/O ports for connecting sensors and actuators to the micro:bit. The selection of sensors and modules lets you build themes such as a smart parking lot, a transportation network, or river level monitoring.
By working through the projects, students learn the basics of IoT and programming while building practical solutions – for example an automatic irrigation system, a smart trash can, a push-button crosswalk traffic light, or a shop burglar alarm. The ELECFREAKS WIKI provides 13 detailed example projects with instructions.
