The overlay is based on SC16IS752 chip which extends Raspberry Pi with two additional UART serial interfaces and 8 programmable GPIOs over I2C. There is also a 40-pin male goldpin connector on the module, which allows up to 16 overlays to be connected, equipping the minicomputer with up to 32 additional UART channels.
