The Velbus Signum IoT Gateway VMBSIG-21 is the advanced smart interface between the Velbus home automation system, the digital meter and external devices via Modbus RTU. As the more powerful counterpart of the VMBSIG-20, it combines all functions of its smaller sibling with additional connectivity and processing power. Like the VMBSIG-20, the gateway runs the Velbus Signum software platform, a Velbus-adapted environment based on the open-source Home Assistant project. It acts as the central control hub of your installation and provides access to the Velbus Cloud platform, allowing you to monitor and control your home from anywhere in the world. Additional interfaces for energy management and integration Thanks to the extra connectivity options of the VMBSIG-21, the functionality goes one step further: ò Integrated P1 port (RJ12): read consumption and injection data directly from your digital meter. ò P1 output port: loop the P1 data through to additional devices or dongles. ò Dual RS485 interface (GND, A+, B-): directly connect sensors, heat pumps, EV chargers and other Modbus RTU devices. ò All existing VMBSIG-20 features remain available: wireless programming of your Velbus installation, automatic time synchronisation, history and logging, network connectivity and cloud integration. Central hub for your smart home The Velbus Signum IoT Gateway forms the heart of your smart home and enables integration with a wide range of smart devices and services. Thanks to the capabilities of the open-source platform on which the Velbus Signum system is based, you can combine your Velbus installation with energy data from your digital meter and external systems. This enables: ò Visualisation and dashboards: clear insights into energy consumption, production and system status. ò Automations: combine Velbus modules, digital meter data and external devices in smart scenarios (for example charging an EV only when solar surplus is available). ò History and logging: analyse energy usage and system activity over time. ò Integrations: connect your Velbus installation with numerous smart devices, services and energy solutions. With the Signum VMBSIG-21, your home becomes not only smart but also future-ready thanks to integrated energy management and automation.
